Hope Market 2015
It was the perfect weather for the Hope Market on Saturday 28th November 2015 at Grace Family Church. Not too hot, not too cold and no rain!
The Hope Market is a community development initiative run by Soul Action, Grace Aid and Grace Church that seeks to offer opportunities to emerging business men and women to generate income and learn from the basic business experience of selling their home-made, hand-made or crafted products. This Market is unique.
We had a constant stream of customers who enjoyed the experience of meeting the ladies and gentlemen who had actually made the products. Each table had a sign which explained more about the individual or organisation they were buying from. This creates a connection between the buyer and seller and makes the experience more personal.
There were a large variety of products on sale from clothing to décor and jewellery, Christmas decorations, plants, fresh produce and more! This provided a great opportunity for people to browse the stalls and do their Christmas shopping.
Once the shopping was done, people enjoyed a hot drink and cake for tea or something savoury for lunch from the food stalls. We also had children’s activities to keep the kids busy while the adults shopped.
One of the highlights of the morning was a performance by the LIV Choir. What beautiful voices! These children are talented and shared this with us in song and dance.
Altogether a wonderful morning!
