Our ethos is driven by i). our vision of an equal and integrated South African society – which starts with children, their educators, parents-carers, and the communities they represent, learning how to live together, through high quality, diverse, and accessible education – and ii). our image of a self-giving, social, and unified God – who respects, receives, and makes room for the other.
As God’s image bearers, we celebrate, embrace, and seek to understand, each others’ cultural, faith, and socio-economic differences. We believe we grow, change, and go further, by being together.
Agents of Change
We see ourselves, and the children and parent-carers in our schools, as ‘agents of change’ called to re-imagine, create, and co-construct signs of justice and peace in the teeth of society’s structures (Tennent 2010:479; Bosch 1991:179).
Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight,C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia, #1)
At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more,
When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death,
And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.
