Young Emerging Leaders Background
Category : Latest Blogs
In 2009 Soul Action welcomed 353 overseas volunteers as part of a 2 week city wide mission called Soul in the City. They were joined by a significant number of local young people in serving +/- 30 Durban projects /churches. In preparing for, and hosting, this event Soul Action South Africa began to ask ‘What if?’
- What if Soul Action was in a position to give our local young people greater opportuntities to explore the relationship between worship and justice
- What if our young people could join with others from across the city and engage in mission and explore justice together
- What if Soul Action was able to gather local young people on a more regular basis in order to pray and explore the bible together
- What if Soul Action made a commitment to invest in local young people with the aim of unlocking some of their obvious potential to be leaders
All these if’s, and no doubt some we haven’t thought of yet, are big questions that we feel can only be answered by young emerging leaders themselves, by encouraging them to gather in order to seek God and hear his desires for them as leaders, his city and this nation.
In 2010 Soul Action South Africa welcomed it’s first intake of Young Emerging Leaders. You can read more about how they are getting on here:
